An Old Deck With New Twists

Hello, my name is Eli , I am in the senior division and I am playing Mega Slowbro, except that this decklist is not the typical Chaos Tower Loll Roll Spin layout. My deck surprisingly does not play VS Seeker, but a heavy line of N and Professor Sycamore.  I am sorry, but you won’t see a lot of gameplay because I got a bye (free win) and there were only three rounds, I went 1/1/1 (1 win, 1 loss, and 1 tie) my decklist is given below:

Pokemon (19)

  • 1 Manaphy EX BKT
  • 2 Shaymin EX ROS
  • 4 Slowbro EX EVO
  • 4 M(Mega) Slowbro EX EVO
  • 3 Slowpoke BKT
  • 2 Slowking BKT
  • 2 Sneasel STS
  • 1 Weavile STS

Items (18)

  • 2 Dive Ball
  • 1 Float Stone
  • 3 Heavy Boots
  • 2 Max Elixir
  • 3 Mega Turbo
  • 3 Slowbro Spirit Link
  • 1 Super Rod

Supporters (10)

  • 3 Ultra Ball
  • 2 Lysandre
  • 4 N
  • 4 Professor Sycamore

Stadiums (4)

  • 1 Chaos Tower
  • 3 Rough Seas

Energy (9)

  • 9 Water Energy

Round 1: Bye (Cory Z, Raticate/Bunnelby)

This was the round I had a bye, instead of just standing out in the open.  I decided to test my deck and play against Cory Zavala, another player with a bye. Cory played some Raticate, Bunnelby, Tsareena mill deck. He discarded all 3 of my Mega Turbos and my Max Elixirs.  If there was one thing I am thankful about that game is that his Tsareena didn’t attack.
Bye, 1-0-0

Round 2:  Tie (Kegan M, Frogs)

My second round was against Kegan and he was playing Greninja with no special tweaks to his deck. We both thought I had the win, but after a grueling thirty minutes and three extra turns, we tied.  My mistake was hitting into a bursting ballooned Greninja, and his undoing, was Giant Water Shurikening instead of Moonlight Slash.

Tie, 1-0-1

Round 3: Lose (Alexis Z, Lurantis GX/Shiinotic)

Third and last round, I played against Alexis Zavala and her Lurantis GX with Shiinotic.

It was miserable. The best I could do was Lysandre up her Vileplume and slowly chip away at it. It was really a massacre. Rest in Peace, Slowbro.

Lose 1-1-1

In The Grand Scheme Of Things

What I like to do with this deck is set up Weavile and Slowking, and then have one Spirit Link, Heavy Boots, and have my rough seas out so Mega Slowbro becomes virtually unstoppable unless you are playing against Lurantis GX, then you just get destroyed so hard.  Having Manaphy is great because of its Aqua Tube ability: all Pokémon with water energy attached to it has no retreat cost.  Loll Roll Spin does 100 damage first turn, assuming Slowbro isn’t switched and does 200 damage every other turn. Slowbro, despite being so powerful, gives up 2 prizes when taken out, it isn’t as easy to set up as I think it is.
